The Priest's Home
It's not all work. There must be time for relaxation and also a place for eating. Some priests have housekeepers but not all as you can see in the photo. Priests have their interests and hobbies and take one day a week off. We try to arrange work so that one priest is at home and available at all times - and this does mean twenty four hours. There is always a welcome for anyone who wants to visit us with their problems and their need of a clearer vision of the humanity of God at work in society.
Our home is the place where the blueprint of life is sketched for many; instruction for children, preparation for marriage, Christening and other deep commitments in the human family; it is the meeting place where arrangements are made for funerals and the fresh hope of eternal future life is enkindled. It is also the place of prayer, study and reading. It is a home; for the celibate priest his people are his family and some still call him, father. |
